Geotechnical Engineer

Experienced, licensed Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with management interest/abilities to head the geotechnical and materials testing departments of a 20-person multi-disciplinary design and consulting engineering firm.  Responsible for generating geotechnical engineering reports for commercial structures, industrial, educational and medical facilities, roads, and bridges; develop engineering study proposals; be responsible for collection, documentation, analysis and reporting of field data; coordinate field explorations and laboratory testing; and develop design and construction recommendations.

Must be a self-motivated team-player with excellent communication skills both oral and written, possess sound project management skills, ability to generate both geotechnical and materials testing proposals, and have an understanding of contracts and agreements.

A PE license in civil engineering or GE in geotechnical engineering is required. Registration in Oregon or ability to obtain within 3 months is required. A minimum of five years progressive experience in geotechnical engineering. Strong attention to detail, in order to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements. Some key requirements of the position include: a keen understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, building client relationships, and developing new customers.

Senior Structural Engineer

Construction Materials Testing/Special Inspections Technician

Marquess & Associates, Inc. has an opening for a materials testing/special inspection technician.  We are looking for a motivated individual with a willingness to learn and obtain certifications for different disciplines of materials testing and special inspections through the International Code Council and other governing associations.  Previous experience and certifications are preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.  The ability to study and pass certification tests as well as strong verbal and written skills are required.  Valid Oregon Driver’s License and ability to pass a drug test is required.  Pay is based on experience and ability to obtain new certifications.

Our technicians provide a wide range of materials testing and special inspections in the field and laboratory including, but not limited to:
